CUSTOMERS at Arby’s will once again have access to a beloved selection that has been gone for some time.
The fan-favorite food option was discontinued from menus nationwide four years ago.
Except now, the item — Potato Cakes — is here to stay.
While Arby’s removed it as an option in 2021 and replaced it with Crinkle Fries, per Nation’s Restaurant News .
A limited-time release of the Potato Cakes was conducted last July at a price of $2.39 for three, as Arby’s said it had been mentioned by customers on social media in over 10,000 instances.
Tiffany Cameron, Arby’s vice president of integrated marketing communications, said the limited offering was a no-brainer at the time.
“It’s great to see how our potato products are loved and embraced by our fans,” Cameron said in statement.
“We heard our Potato Cake devotees loud and clear and are happy to offer the fan favorite again for a limited time.”
Now, Arby’s is bringing the Potato Cakes back to the menu again in 2025, but for a long time — not a limited time, per an internal email leaked online.
According to the document, customers at Arby’s 3,376 locations in the United States will see the Potato Cakes after the end of February.
CELEBRATION BEGINS
An announcement is expected from the fast food chain to confirm, and other customers have already caught wind of the “big deal.”
“They’re coming back. Permanently,” wrote an excited food insider in a post on Facebook this month.
“Arby’s official statement: ‘You heard it here first. Your favorite version of the potato is back forever and will never leave you again.’”
“This is why we keep talking about the things we miss and remember. Because they may never be truly gone,” they added.
Other customers also confirmed an email notice about the Potato Cakes return.
“I got an email from Arby’s yesterday and it said potato cakes were back for good. I’m gonna call corporate and make sure,” an excited customer wrote in a separate Facebook thread .

SIZING SHAME
While the excitement over the Potato Cakes continues, some Arby’s customers were furious with the chain last month and claimed it was engaging in “greedflation.”
Several said Arby’s was allegedly reducing the size or quantity of some menu items but charging the same price for them.
This included French fries and drinks, and even led to a class action lawsuit from one woman.
In the suit, the woman and her lawyers claimed to have found that the former kid’s size fries replaced the small fries, the small replaced the medium, and the medium replaced the large.
The move was allegedly taken by Arby’s with “no correspondence, reduction in price or disclosure to customers,” per the suit.
Other customers took to X to claim that they bought a combo meal with noticeably different sizes that was $23.49 and “was under $15” the last time they bought it.
Arby’s did not respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment at the time.
Jack in the Box also replaced an Arby’s location last summer after an abrupt closure.
Another somber shutdown sign was spotted outside one of the chain’s restaurants in May that read “thank you for all the years together.”
