The internet is full of wacky food trends, from the “Hear Me Out” cake to Pickle Dr. Pepper. Nevertheless, a bizarre new mashed potato hack has taken the internet by storm, leaving viewers speechless. It’s safe to say this is one trend we hope never catches on.
In a viral Instagram video shared by @anthonywehnert, the strange hack involves the YouTube creator taking a water bottle (stored in the oven, for some reason) and filling it with instant mashed potato mix. After pushing the powder inside with his finger and giving it a shake, he manages to squeeze out mashed potatoes straight from the bottle. Thanksgiving just got a whole lot easier… I guess?
The reaction online has been overwhelmingly negative, with many users expressing their discomfort upon watching the video.
“Clearly only a person who would store water bottles in an oven would also eat mashed potatoes from a water bottle,” quipped one commenter.
Another chimed in, “It’s okay. I’ll stay hungry,” while a third simply stated, “you ruined my day.”
On the flip side, a handful of viewers found the concept oddly appealing. “Wait, this is actually genius for runners,” one user suggested.
Another person added, “I don’t see how this is a bad idea guys; I would eat this as long as it had cheese.”
“I’m so uncomfortable,” another viewer wrote.
Would you dare to try this unconventional method of enjoying mashed potatoes? Let us know in the comments!
