Teton Valley Brands, maker of a line of Idaho-branded potato chips, will soon have a new home — and it’s more than five times bigger than their current one.
According to newly-named CEO Matt Price, Teton Valley is moving from a 2,600-square-foot facility in Nampa to a 14,000-square-foot warehouse in Caldwell.
The startup company currently generates about $3 million in sales per year.
“I give the original Teton Valley Brands team so much credit for kind of making a small space like that work,” Price said. “But there are naturally production constraints.”
The new location will allow Teton Valley to significantly expand production.
Price said his role as full-time CEO and the new facility comes at a time when “the business is starting to get into exponential growth mode.” Previously, the company’s CEO served in a somewhat part-time position.
The company is in the process of moving everything into the new Caldwell warehouse and Price said they plan to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2025.
The expansion also comes during a time when Teton Valley is working to expand its presence in the kettle-chip world after wildfires in Oregon took out other kettle-chip facilities in recent years. Price said they eventually hope to be able to expand into the grocery store private-label scene as well.
“This gives us our keys to the private label conversation, which we’ve already jumped in on. This allows us to provide capacity to other people looking for potato chip manufacturing that right now do not have any,” Price said.
