VARDAMAN, Miss (WTVA)- Something sweet was happening over in Vardaman Saturday as the town held its 51st annual Sweet Potato Festival.
The festival had musical entertainment, a 5k run, tasting booths and more.
Plenty of people were out selling Sweet Potato’s at the festival as well.
“Just attention to the town, but also it helps a lot of organizations like the FFA sells sweet potatoes and they make money for their activities during the year and the tasting booth helps the school. It’s just a big community effort and it helps a lot of people here.” Said Sylvia Clark, an employee at The Tater Shed in Vardaman.
Vardaman is known as the sweet potato capital of the world.
